I've recently updated the Calendar to the right, and the "Club Info" section which had not been updated in a while. The Photo section does have a problem that I will be looking at.

Field Day and Hamfest

Posted by k8ji on July 7th, 2006

By: Lyle Hamilton, AB8SH

June was a busy, but very good month for the club. Our Hamfest was well attended by both vendors and visitors, and the new location seems to be a hit despite the lack of shade trees. Thanks to all of you who participated to make it a success, for our club and the other Hams out there who were able to enjoy it.

Field Day was also a success thanks to Barb KA8AXY & Bill KC8RUG for offering their home again, and because of the hard work of the members who went out to set up on Friday. Here is a summary of the log data:

Station A

281 total contacts, 281 pts

Top Operator: Bill WD6ADM – 150 contacts, 53% of total

Station B

257 total contacts, 257 pts

Top Operator: Gary KC8BTA 76 contacts , 30% of total

Station C

214 total contacts, 428 pts

Top Operator: Dave Yockey K8CMO 214 contacts, 100% of total

MARC Totals:
538 contacts by phone 72% , 538 points 56%
214 contacts by CW 28%, 428 points 44%
752 contacts, 966 QSO points

Top MARC operator: Dave Yockey K8CMO 28% of all contacts, 44% of all QSO points.

Once again, thanks to everyone who helped set up, operate, and clean up at both Hamfest and Field Day, because these events don’t just happen.
