MARC Contest Team
1. North American SSB QSO Party
The North American SSB QSO Party starts on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM local time and runs for 12 hours. Goal is to contact as many North American stations as possible running 100 watts or less.
If you need logging software I can assist in downloading and configuring N1MM logger, which is free. If you already have N3FJP logging software I recommend you use it.
I’ve tested both N1MM logger and N3FJP NAQP ver. 2.6 on SSB and RTTY. I use N1MM for RTTY and N3FJP for SSB.
If you’re interested in joining a MARC team send me an email You don’t need to work the entire contest to be on a team, commit to a minimum of 30 minutes on the air or 10 QSO’s whichever comes first.
I’ll need to assign and register teams no later than Friday afternoon, August 17.
Contact me on the MARC repeater or via email if you have questions regarding the rules or logging software.
As a bonus International Lighthouse – Lightship Weekend starts Friday, August 17, 2012 at 8:00 PM local time and runs for 48 hours. Details are at the International Lighthouse website. If you work any lighthouses or ships during NAQP you can log them if you get the location and operators name.
2. Ohio QSO Party
The Ohio QSO party is August 25, 2012 and runs from noon to midnight local time. In 2010 there were 3 logs submitted from Clermont County, in 2011 there were only 2.
Here’s your chance to be one of the rare one’s, everyone needs Clermont County for a clean sweep.
3. Ohio State Parks On The Air
OSPOTA is September 8, 2012. MARC will be operating the Ohio State Parks On The Air event from the Turkey Ridge Shelter in East Fork State Park.
Setup starts at 9:00 AM EDT. We will be operating from noon to 8 PM EDT with three stations.
